sageoflogic: blogvader replied to your post: You know how I used the word “spam”? That means I’m totally cool if you post one or two. But a dozen in quick succession? Is obnoxious. Wow. ALMOST MY ENTIRE DASH. AT LEAST TWO TO THREE PER PAGE. Now there’s at least one other person on Tumblr who knows the frustration I felt at the Harry Potter spam last July. …but it does not...

Very sad to hear about Davy Jones.
I was fortunate enough to perform in a musical with him once when he was in Kansas City, and he’s one of the most personable and kind celebrities I’ve ever met. Rest in peace, Davy!

“People who don’t have money don’t understand the stress.”
– Says the asshole, Alan Dlugash, who most likely makes more than 5 times the amount of money the average American makes (via egiaslolwut) ____ Reminds me of the son-of-a-bitch fuckwit that complained he ‘couldn’t get by on just $400,000’ a year.

– Rush Limbaugh, on law student Sandra Fluke, who was denied the ability to testify before the all-male panel considering contraceptive coverage. Fuck. You. As ThinkProgress states: “While it’s probably not even worth engaging with Limbaugh on the facts, Fluke’s testimony was about a friend who is a...

Misrepresentation  A considerable number of anti-abortion visuals feature an almost fully developed fetus. Abortions preformed at this stage via hysterotomy or D&X abortions are rare. Only about 1.5% of abortions are performed at 21-weeks or older, according to according to a 2000 study conducted by the Nation Center for Chronic Disease (CDC). A July 1992 LIFE magazine article, The Great...

On Hatred of All White People
I’ve been a bit frustrated with the discussion of race lately, largely because on Tumblr it seems as if a person is required to express outright hostility for all white people if they want to validate themselves as an opponent of racism, and I fail to see how that is a constructive way to further progress race relations. It makes people sound like supremacists rather than proponents of...

GOP candidates say they care for the poor but...
If these yokels really wanted to deal with spending, they’d repeal the Bush tax cuts and take a hard look at reducing the war and homeland security budgets. These measures would save us trillions, but this isn’t about saving money. It’s about attacking minorities and the poor, whom Republicans falsely believe to be the major recipients of welfare. It’s also about whipping...

So, wait, I'm not allowed to call a black person...
I’m sure I can find a more eloquent way to do this, but I think profanity is the most appropriate way to address a person criticizing someone for having cross-racial attractions. Don’t mind me, Tumblr.  I’m white, male, and I apparently have no right to criticize the behavior of an asshole.

I have to brag.
Today, I got so much shit done. Burned 1000 calories in the gym with some cross training. (I’m training for a 5k next month.) Washed my car, by hand. Dusted and rearranged my bookshelves. (Which sounds simple, but it’s a pretty substantial task.) Managed to get all but about 15% of my comics added to my database and my four boxes reallocated. (Unfortunately I need another box.) ...

Okay, is it Asshole Declaration Day on Tumblr?
Earlier today four of the folks I follow were being fucked with by dickhead anons (which is more than I usually see), and in the last hour, I’ve seen posts from people complaining about a white guy declaring his love for black women and another person pissed off about a white person with dreads. Really? Do we not have enough legitimate issues to be pissed off about?

It's 2012.
vivatvalerius: Why argue about contraception? Or abortion? Or women’s rights? Stick to the real issues. People have fundamental rights, most of which don’t concern you, and it’s not up to you to decide whether or not they have em. Idiots. It’s pretty simple. With the economy seeming to improve and consumer confidence growing, Republicans have little choice but to stir up the jesus...

HORSESHIT. Your view is that pregnant people are expendable, you fucking barbaric asshole. Also, why don’t I hear you complaining about all of the kids in Kansas who will have to go hungry due to Sam Brownback’s cuts to food stamps?  Or his regressive tax system that will raise taxes on the poor and cut taxes for the rich? Do those kids not matter to you because they’re already...

Anti-Gay Governor's Gay Hairstylist Quits Over Her... →
stfuhypocrisy: [CLICK LINK TO WATCH VIDEO]  New Mexico governor Susana Martinez’s life just got significantly less fabulous: her hairstylist, a gay salon owner, has refused to style her hair until she stops opposing gay marriage. Depriving a Republican of the services that keep her looking like a modern June Cleaver is an act of defiance louder than a thousand glitterbombs. Antonio Darden runs...

A story.
shotgunsunday: While this is still fresh in my mind, I’m going to write it down. But I need to tell you something first. I’m a federal firearms dealer. I’ve been around guns my entire life. I own them, I repair them, I buy/sell them, and I shoot them a lot. I don’t hunt (or, you know, shoot people) but, nonetheless, guns are somewhat a part of my life. I went to a gun show this morning before...

On the Exclusion of Women from Contraception...
For those of you who are not aware, these hearings are also taking place at the state level, and women are being deliberately excluded from these hearings as well. Personally, I think it’s a mind-numbingly stupid tactic on the part of the Religious Right. In excluding women, Christians jesus freaks have made it very clear that this is not about protecting religious liberty, but...

8 Dead In Quran Burning Protests - CNN
More violence and dead from a supposed ‘religion of peace’. Eight people are dead and twenty-seven are wounded, that we know of, all over books that were burned (supposedly) on accident.  Please, tell me more about your peaceful religion, Muslims. From where I’m sitting, your religion of peace is about as peaceful as that of the Christians, which is to say, far too many of you...

The Confederate flag wasn't always popular.
stfuconfederates: After the Civil War, you pretty much got shot for having one. Probably because it’s the symbol of a failed rebellion against the federal government, and the Stars and Bars was a fucking battle flag. It had no political symbolism. It was a battle flag. It meant the person carrying it was going to shoot at you. It was gone for a long time, and guess when it came back. It came...

bohemiansouth: Gov. Robert F. McDonnell is backing off his unconditional support for a bill requiring women to have an ultrasound before an abortion, focusing new attention on one of the most controversial pieces of legislation in Virginia’s General Assembly this year.
