Abortions are bad.

Women should be responsible and not get pregnant. (And, in the case of rape, well don’t get raped for starters… but if you do screw up and wear something slutty or drink alcohol or go somewhere alone…. then the baby is Gods gift for you to redeem yourself for said trespass, but we won’t even go there)

Birth Control is bad.

Women should be responsible and… get pregnant? OH, that’s right… it’s about religious freedom. Women should not offend the religious values of others by using birth control… something like that, right?

Homosexuals are bad.

I mean, these people found a loop-hole where the whole birth-control/abortion issue is basically moot. How the hell is that fair? (Oh, and something else about religion… they offend other peoples right to… um… believe in God… or something, somehow)

Well, all these issues seem to have one common denominator

So, why don’t we just come out and say it?

Sex is Bad.

Am I getting that right, Republicans?

The idea of two human beings coming together for pleasure… and in some cases as the ultimate act of love and intimacy is so morally reprehensible that unless a child is born from it (because, you know, we desperately need to increase the population of this planet) it must be condemned?

This act of private pleasure is so sinful, that the evilness will leak onto neighbors, friends and slowly drain the righteousness out of anyone who gets too close to someone who has committed such an act, therefore infringing on religious freedoms.

Is THAT about right?

Hm, Okay strangest thing…

I was looking through my Constitutional Law textbook, and it turns out this “Freedom of Religion” thing also includes Freedom FROM Religion. Now I’m just confused all over again.
