White people should collectively apologize for mass shootings?
Is that a serious thing that people believe?
While I’m at it, why don’t I apologize for the damage to peoples’ houses that resulted from the thunderstorms that moved through Missouri this weekend, or my nonexistent role in the car wreck that occurred down the street from my home?
i don’t think thunderstorms and terrorism are equivalent, unless you think we (white people) have secret weather-control powers..
Of course they’re not, but at the same time, most people have as little involvement in terrorism as they do with weather control. To think that a community should be held accountable for something that most people hold universally despicable (ie, shooting several people for purposes of terrorism) is ridiculous to me.
It’s equally ridiculous to expect so-called PoC’s to apologize for incidents that are collectively attributed to their communities.
