Have we forgotten her prominent role in inciting a war that killed thousands of Americans needlessly, and upwards of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis? (And we’ve since learned that we knowingly fired on civilians, thanks to Wikileaks.) What about her decision to go see Spamelot and buy shoes in New York City as Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans? It’s also important to remember that she helped George Bush take a massive eight year dump on the Constitution.

I respect her intelligence, but that intelligence means she knew exactly what she was doing when she participated in the lies about the weapons of mass destruction, and it doesn’t look like she ever lost any sleep over the deaths she helped cause, or the consequences of the war that we’re still experiencing in this country today.

So, why the sudden Condi love fest?

Maybe you hadn’t noticed, but the RNC/GOP is having a bit of an issue with minorities and those who possess a vagina.  Condi checks both boxes and is willing to lie and grin for the party. For better or worse, she’s the best (and only) part of the Bush Administration that they can trot out.  People still haven’t forgotten the Evil Duo and bringing them out would certainly tank the whole thing. And Colin Powell won’t keep to the script.  But people like Condi despite themselves and even though she doesn’t agree with the platform, she won’t make waves.  

To be clear, I understand why Republicans love her completely. (And why they’re trotting her out as their token during the RNC.)

I’m talking about liberals here.  There were friends of mine on Tumblr and Facebook posting very positively about Condi, and I didn’t understand why. (Apart from the pigmentation of her skin and her biological sex.)
