I just read AvX #12.

I have to say, overall, it was a huge disappointment and a lost opportunity. I feel like they could have just lopped off books 1-4, as well as the ridiculous helicarrier encounter over Utopia, and it would have been infinitely better. The pretext under which Cap and Cyke came to blows was pretty outrageous, as well as the writing of Cyke overall.

The surprise death was a letdown considering they chose a character that’s been effectively irrelevant for some time now.

Whoever hired John Romita Jr. to pencil AvX should be fired.

And the way they capped it off with Steve being preachy and hypocritical really, really rubbed me the wrong way.  Apparently he’s too dense to recognize his own aggression and provocation in the AvX matter.

Here’s to me not paying any money for Marvel’s mega-event next summer.
