To you ‘sanctity of marriage’ types.

Tell me why I should listen to you when you folks nearly nominated a man who’s treated multiple wives like garbage, and still has the audacity to act like he cares about the sanctity of marriage. (Oh yeah, it was his ‘passion for his country’ that forced him to stray, right?)

Tell me why I should believe all of your paranoid, slippery slope assertions when we’ve seen marriage between gay people cause zero problems, unless happiness and contentment of gay people is a problem for you, in several states as well as several of our allies’ countries? (Israel and Great Britain, for example.)  You’ll recall that in November several states legalized gay marriage or repealed their bans on it.

Tell me why none of you criticized House Republicans for opposing VAWA, when domestic violence is certainly a threat to the sanctity of marriage?

Tell me why you hate big government so much until your lawmakers are begging the Supreme Court to uphold DOMA against the popular support of the country for equal rights?  Why is big government such a threat until you need it to enforce your backward superstitions and antiquated notions about sex?

And, when you’re finished with all that, tell me how long you’re going to stay in bed weeping when DOMA is repealed?  I’ll be the one holding the cup out to collect your sweet, conservative tears.

    In 2012. Seriously.

A female movie star gets dropped from future projects and dragged through the media coal pits, yet several millions of people and news networks pour millions of dollars and praise on a man who treated not one but two of his wives like garbage, and even asked if he could have an ‘open marriage’. (And left the first while she was battling breast cancer.) And that misogynistic piece of shit was a a few short breaths away from the Republican nomination for the highest office in our country.

There are a lot of huge fucking puritanical hypocrites out there in this fine land of ours this evening, and many of them are the zealous, hateful jesus freaks that perpetuate these double-standards.

Cain drops out of race because of accusations of infidelity, but Gingrich surges as a known adulterer.

    *Scratches head*

It’s a little more complex than that.  As you might recall, Cain’s actions were borderline predatory and perpetrated against women that did not share his feelings.

However, Gingrich is a pretty sick fuck, but he has the good fortune of being pale in America.

On Newt Gingrich, Infidelity, and Hypocrisy

Newt Gingrich said the following when addressed during a recent debate about his reported request for an ‘open marriage’ when his second wife discovered he was cheating:

“It’s trash, and I am appalled that you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that,”

Republican voters seem to be lining up behind him to accuse the media of character assassination, which begs the question, where were these fucks when Anthony Weiner was getting torpedoed?  You know, the congressman who was exposed as retaliation for investigating Clarence Thomas’s corrupt use of the Citizens United ruling to make hundreds of thousands? Oh yes, you were lining up in chat rooms, message boards, and your blogs to call him a degenerate and demand that he resign.

And you want to hold Newt up as some kind of victim now that his wives are disclosing how horribly he treated them?

    Really?

Why are you not demanding that Newt Gingrich drop out of the race, in light of the recent revelations that his degenerate sexual tendencies are far worse than he disclosed, and the basic fact that he treated his wives like dogshit?

Do you really want someone in the Oval Office who’s not only a racist homophobe, a warmonger, and a corporatist, but can’t even live up to a promise to love, honor, and cherish his own wife?

Of course you do…. as long as he’s a Republican.

The competition to reward the wealthy

By Steve Benen | Washington Monthly

Just about all of the major Republican presidential candidates have unveiled tax plans they’d pursue if elected, and the result has become a competition with a competition — GOP contenders aren’t just…

Would you expect anything less from the party responsible for 71% of the nation’s debt, racked up under just the last three Republican presidents? They’re all about rewarding the rich for being greedy, unpatriotic fucks that want access to our markets, infrastructure, military, and police without fucking paying for it.

Gingrich Pledges Fidelity (For the 4th Time) - CNN News

I’m going to preemptively call shenanigans on this nonsense, but we know Christians will believe anything, so this should still get him a few points in the polls.

    Per CNN:

Newt Gingrich stepped up his efforts to appeal to evangelical Christian voters in Iowa Monday by promising in writing to “defend and strengthen the family.”

Gingrich, who has been married three times, specifically said he would “uphold the institution of marriage through personal fidelity to my spouse and respect for the marital bonds of others.”
